History: Established in 1946, Blake’s was one of Michigan’s first “pick your own” apple orchards. Over the decades, it has grown from a small family venture to a 500-acre expanse.  

Unique Features: Apart from apple picking, Blake’s boasts a hard cider bar, a bakery, and a funland for kids with attractions like petting zoos and hayrides.

Robinette’s Apple Haus & Winery, Grand Rapids

History: Robinette’s has been running since 1911. Originally a peach farm, the Robinette family transitioned to apples due to a peach tree disease.  

Unique Features: Robinette’s is not just about apples; they’ve introduced wine and cider tasting rooms. The on-site bakery, known for its apple donuts, is a treat for visitors.

Spicer Orchards, Fenton

History: Five generations of Spicers have worked this land, transitioning from dairy farming in the 1900s to fruit farming by the mid-century.  

Unique Features: This orchard provides a complete family experience with a winery, corn maze, play area, and even a bee observatory!

Alber Orchard & Cider Mill, Manchester

History: With roots back to the 1890s, Alber Orchard is one of the oldest continuously operating cider mills in Michigan.  

Unique Features: Alongside their cider and apples, they host tractor pulls, vintage car shows, and a corn maze carved in a different design each year.

Wiard’s Orchards & Country Fair, Ypsilanti

History: Founded in 1837, Wiard’s began as a mineral springs resort before evolving into the apple haven it is today.  

Unique Features: Wiard’s offers a multitude of attractions: mini-golf, a haunted barn, a country fair, and even a nighttime spooky hayride.

History: What began as a mere 40-acre farm in the early 20th century has expanded to 200 acres of apple delight.
