On a stormy Wednesday evening, between hockey games at the Taylor Sportsplex, my three sons (15, 13, and 11) and I ducked into Kudos Taproom in Taylor, MI looking for food, warmth, and a little fun. We found all three… and then some.
We headed straight to the restaurant in the back — spacious, clean, and buzzing with energy. There’s a mix of seating: long picnic tables for groups, bar‑height tables for couples, and regular tables for families like ours. We ordered dinner (Birria egg rolls for me, a Smash Burger for Geo, a basket of wings for Mikey, and Steve’s go‑to Crispy Chicken Sandwich, which lived up to its crispy promise) and then something unexpected happened — the server handed us free Music BINGO cards.

Turns out, every Wednesday from 7–9 p.m., Kudos hosts Downriver Music BINGO. That night’s crowd was a multigenerational mix — grandparents nodding to Elvis, toddlers bopping to Justin Bieber. The music was familiar and upbeat, and the server cheerfully hollered giant hints as she made her rounds refilling drinks. Between bites, sips, and marking our BINGO cards, the atmosphere felt less like a taproom and more like a community hangout spot. I kept getting distracted by people-watching; everyone was just having so much wholesome fun.

Inside the Kudos Fieldhouse
After dinner, we wandered into the Kudos Fieldhouse section — a massive indoor space filled with family‑friendly bar games and backyard‑style activities. Couples were on dates, a group of guys was mid‑cornhole tournament, and a young couple was there planning their wedding reception (genius idea). Parents were playing ping pong with their kids, others were testing their aim at axe throwing, and a few people cozied up in corners to work on laptops.

The vibe was relaxed and welcoming — even on a rainy night when the roof was rattling. Some were in the arcade section, swapping tickets for candy and fidgets. Others were hanging out near the board game nook and fireplace.
Games rotate, but when we visited, options included:
- Cornhole
- Football bowling
- Ping pong
- Giant Jenga
- Pickleball
- Disc golf putting
- Axe and star throwing (ages 14+)
- Pool

The Activities Wristband is the best deal: $25 for adults (14+) or $20 for kids (13 & under) for unlimited access.
First responders, healthcare workers, veterans, and teachers get free activity wristbands daily!
More Than Just Indoor Fun
Kudos offers much more than food and games. The outdoor patio — complete with twinkle lights and a stage — is a summer hotspot for live music. Kudos Outdoors hosts concerts on the weekends throughout the summer when the weather cooperates (and moves the fun indoors when it doesn’t).
Need an event venue in Taylor MI? The Fieldhouse has hosted everything from birthday parties and corporate gatherings to wedding receptions. The space is flexible and can easily transform from a casual hangout to a full‑on celebration.

And if you still have energy to burn, Kudos is connected to Game On Sports Center — a separate facility with basketball and volleyball courts, plus batting cages.
Why It Works for Families
Whether it’s a rainy Wednesday or a sunny weekend, Kudos offers something for every age. Kids love the arcade and games, parents appreciate the relaxed environment, and everyone enjoys the food and drinks.
Check out the Sunday Family Day which includes free unlimited activities for kids under 13.
It’s also one of the best axe throwing and cornhole spots in Taylor MI, with live music that adds to the atmosphere.

We left full, happy, and ready to come back — maybe for live music next time. Kudos Taproom & Fieldhouse isn’t just a taproom. It’s a year‑round indoor playground where families, friends, and even strangers come together over food, drinks, and games.
